hello list, A. Brandon, Christian Rodler, Julius Alexander, Irving
Popovetsky.

i was following your discussion on the captive portal thing, trying my
best to understand and further reading about nvram. Since stated before
my expectations head more to an "artistic" use, something that is for
sure truly difficult to explain but we are working on that and here is a
place where you can read a bit more to understand better what we will
like to promote in some cultural, social and artistic levels not only
here in France but in South America.

the 2 past days i have dedicated good time on trying to install openwrt,
my computer crashes for some reason during compilation and i guess it
will all take few months until i manage to make a port of the 2 main
things we need to begin with our project (wich could be consider a
branch or use of what some of you have developed)

those 2 things are:

-customizable splahs screen, to keep it in accordance with the place
where the AP will be located

-irc.server

After having had the chance to toy with ewrt my impression is that it
will be the route for this project, since is a very easy to use
firmware, letting more people join into the meshwork.

i wanted to know how difficult is for any of you to help us build this
new artistic verion firmware? of course the splash screen will have
logos and links to your sites and projects.

in the next weeks we will dedicate some time to design the splash
screen, hoping soon we manage to get it to work in any of the chossen
places of the city of strasbourg.
